Florida Newlyweds Toss Coin To Determine Last Name

A newly married couple in Florida decided to choose their last name based on the outcome of a coin toss. Jeff Conley and Darcy Ward married earlier this month, and while at the altar they flipped a coin engraved with each of their last names. The coin landed on "Ward," and Jeff says he is more than happy to take his wife's name. He told the Palm Beach Post, "It’s fair. I am a graduate student in economics at Florida State and I think about fairness . . . You could say I won. I was the one who received something new." Darcy added that "being with someone who was willing to start the marriage from a creative and teamwork and fair place felt like a really good first step toward an equal partnership." (Fox News)
