A Newton man faces up to 10 years in federal prison for possessing firearms. 41-year old
Desmond Deray Gatson has been convicted by a jury for being a felon in possession of a
firearm. In February of last year, Gatson was stopped by police He was in possession of a
handgun and marijuana. With a previous felony conviction, he was prohibited from possessing
a firearm. He will be sentenced on a later date.
