+Effective March 16th, a 60-day extension was signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott for renewals of vehicle registration, vehicle titling, and renewal of permanent disabled parking placard. A 60-day extension is also for an individual with an expired 30-day temporary permit. Those registering are encouraged to do so online or by mail and not go to your courthouse in person.
+Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick has signed an order that call for no more than 10 people gathering at place at one time. The order also closes all bars and all restaurants in the county are dine out only.
+The Nederland School District is proving medicine pickup for students that have prescription medicine given to them regularly or in an emergency. You will be able to pick it up Friday, March 20th between 10:00 – 11:00 am in the foyer of the of your student’shome campus. The campus nurse will be available to assist you. NISD is also working on the flexible educational program to keep students engaged and provide instructional support for students during the school closure. The NISD Flexible Learning Program will be posted Friday, March 20th at 3:00 pm.
+Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued a waiver that will allow Texans ordering food for delivery to order alcoholic beverages with it. Customers can order beer, wine, or mixed drinks from eateries with appropriate permits, as long as the customers are also buying food. Abbott alsodirected the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission to allow the sales of unopened product back to manufacturers and wholesalers of alcoholic beverages. The aim is to lighten the load on restaurant-owners who are shut down for now.
+The state of Texas is allowing local governments to postponed May 2nd elections until November 3rd. Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation allowing them to do so. The state government does not the authority to reschedule local elections itself. The November general election is the next uniform election date on the state’s calendar.
