Lumberton Fire and EMS are among the first named recipients to purchase equipment through
the Gary Sinise Foundation. One grant per year per department up to $50,000 has been awarded.
Person protective equipment and gear will be purchased for first responders answering
COVID-19 related service calls. The devices were developed and used in the NASA Space
Station and Space Shuttle.
