Restaurants May Be Able To Sell Take Out Drinks After Pandemic

Texas restaurants may be able to sell alcoholic beverages for take-out and delivery even after the pandemic is over, and possibly from now on. Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted Tuesday night, "Alcohol-to-go sales can continue after May 1st." He added that "we may just let this keep on going forever." Under Abbott's latest order, restaurants can reopen Friday at 25-percent capacity. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission says the order allows restaurants to keep offering beer and liquor for take-out and delivery, which they weren't allowed to do before restrictions were placed on them to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
