A Vidor man is in custody following a brief standoff yesterday. Orange County deputies were
called to Elliott Street in Vidor yesterday afternoon after receiving a report that a man was
shooting towards his neighbor. The suspect, later identified as Rodney Bailey, ran into a wooded
area. Deputies were able to contact him via phone. Bailey told them he has an active felony
warrant. He was found and taken into custody about three hours later. The active warrant was
for MTRP, Class A assault. He is being held without bond.
