TEA Chief Says COVID Rarely Spreads In Classrooms

The Texas Education Agency chief says classrooms aren't places where COVID-19 readily spreads. The San Marcos Corridor News reported yesterday that TEA Commissioner Mike Morath made the statement in a recent meeting with the state Board of Education. Morath said, "in-school transmission of the coronavirus happens exceedingly rarely." He also said there is enough data now to show students from middle and low income families who have been learning online from home these past few months are underperforming.
