A woman that was driving the wrong way on Eastex Freeway striking a Jefferson County
Sheriff’s Office patrol unit has been indicted by the grand jury for intoxication assault. 32-year
old Stephanie Hayes was driving south in the northbound in August of last year when the head
on collision occurred. The deputy sustained severe injuries in the crash.
The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Port Arthur man for sexual assault. 28-year old
Keithon Wesley Jones is accused of entering the apartment of a woman in the 2700 block of
8th Street in Beaumont this past October and sexually assaulting her. A witnesses heard the
woman screaming for help and assisted her. Jones was arrested at the scene.
