Beaumont police, BISD police, and Lamar University police will be participating in a regional
training Thursday. The training exercise will include several locations throughout Beaumont and
the Lamar Institute of Technology campus. Regional first responders will use their vehicles
to react to simulated events. University Drive in Beaumont from Lavaca to Hartel will be closed
today from 7:00 am-3:00 pm
