The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a man for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
47-year old Jerry Jenkins, of Beaumont, is accused of sexually assaulting his niece in December
of 2019. The child was eight years old at the time of the assault. The victim reported the assault
to her teacher, who notified police.
A 21-year old Nederland man has been indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury for sexual
assault of a child. Jeremiah Prejean is accused of sexually assaulting his step-sister on at least
two occasions. Once when she was 10 and when she was 13, which led to her having a child.
Prejean was 17 at the time of the second sexual assault.
