As a result of recent speed studies, two stretches of roadways in Southeast Texas will have
speed reductions. Beginning Monday, College Street in Beaumont from Dowlen Road to
23rd Street is being dropped from 50 mph to 45 mph.In Orange County, the speed limit on
FM 1442 from just south of I-10 to one mile south is being lowered from 70 mph to 65 mph.
Motorists are asked to obey these two changes in speed limits.
