The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in the Mount Union community,
which is northwest of Kirbyville. The victim, who was shot in the hip, told deputies she was
approached by two men as she was leaving her home when she was shot. The victim was
airlifted to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
