The death Vidor police officer Chris Berry is COVID related. Officer Berry was found by his
wife at the family home Tuesday. Officer Berry worked in Southeast Texas law enforcement for
more than 30 years. His death will be treated as a line of duty death. He is the brother of talk
show host Michael Berry. At 9:00 this morning, Officer Berry will be escorted from the
Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s on Highway 69 to Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. The
procession will exit at I-10 and Main Street in Vidor to honor the citizens of Vidor and
will also exit at I-10 and FM 1136 to honor his family before proceeding to the funeral home.
