Following Monday’s deadly incident at the federal prison complex in Beaumont, Southeast
Texas Congressman Randy Weber has released a statement. Weber, is troubled by the incident,
is thankful that no correctional officers were harmed during that attack that left two inmates
dead and two injured. Congressman Weber, a member of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, says
staff shortages at facilities across the country need to be addressed. Congressman Weber has
introduced the “Pay Our Correctional Officers Fairly Act”
