The DPS has released the names of two people killed in a head-on collision in Newton County
north of Burkeville. 33-year old Joey McClelland, of Newton, was traveling south on Highway
87 and crossed into the northbound lane striking an northbound pickup driven by Terry Williams
of Hemphill. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. McClelland died at the hospital.
