Okay. Lets do this old saw one more time. The worst thing a person can do is pay for something they do not want to pay for. College is something I was glad to pay for. I stupidly avoided those four years because I thought I was goin to be a Kansas City star. End of my tale. My kids didn't want college. Finally at age 34, my daughter decided to go back. Good for her. I helped put both of her sons thru school and I am glad for that. As far as forgiving debt on college, it's just the start. Anyone with half a brain knows that. It is just another hole in the dike and a chance for many to ask forgiveness for other things. Yes, pay my house note, pay my car note. Example: Bank of America saying yesterday they will finance homes for people who cannot afford a home. The caveat is they have to have good credit. Show me someone who cannot afford to buy a home and well, you get the rest of the picture. Dodd/Frank tried this almost 20 years ago. It just does not work. How about those who paid their debts? How about those who struggled to get thru college and maybe had to drop out because of tuition costs they could not afford? There are too many questions and not enough answers. I do not have the answers and apparently others are in the same boat. Remember, buyer beware. If it's free, there is usually a hitch. Maybe the government will hitch part of the cost to your wagon.
