Two are in custody following an early morning robbery and pursuit that started in Beaumont. Just before
1:00 am, the Speedy Stop in the 8300 block of College Street was robbed. The two robbers entered the
store. One jumped the counter with a handgun and demanded money from the register. They left with
cash and cigarettes. They fled in a stolen vehicle. Police attempted to stop the car that sped off. The
pursuit ended in the 2100 block of Twin City Highway in Nederland. 20-year old Patrick Bridgewater
was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. A juvenile was also arrested and taken
to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center.
