A Beaumont man has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for animal cruelty. In October of
2021 24-year old Decorius Mire, encouraged by a co-defendant, kicked a cat as if kicking a football field
goal in the parking lot of a Beaumont apartment complex. Mire filmed the crime and posted in on social
media. Mire, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced yesterday.
