The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports a 17-year died this morning while fleeing from police
during an attempted traffic stop. Around 3:00, the teen was driving on Broadway Street n Lake Charles
with nolight. The driver sped off when a deputy attempted to pull him over. He crashed on 6th Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 15-year old passenger is hospitalized with serious, but non-
life threatening injuries.
