FEMA is granting Southwest Louisiana another 50-million dollars in federal disaster aid grants for ongoing Hurricane Laura recovery efforts. The Calcasieu Parish School Board will receive nearly five-million dollars for repairs to a couple of elementary schools. The Jefferson Davis Electric Co-Op will receive nearly 45-million dollars to restore damaged transmission lines. The Calcasieu Parish Voluntary Council on Aging will receive more than a million dollars to replace their building. The grants were announced on Tuesday.
