A murder trial is underway in Jefferson County. 22-year old John Cook Jr is on trial for the April 2019
shooting death of 37-year old Anthony Wilson. Wilson was shot and killed while confronting three
suspects that were burglarizing his vehicle on Madrid Lane in Beaumont. Two others, Jamarius Gardner
and Bernard Bell were also charged in Wilson’s murder. Gardner pleaded guilty in October of last year.
