Opening statements in the trial of a man charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a peace
officer gets underway this afternoon in Jefferson County. 19-year old Jalon Nixon is one of two that are
accused of attempting to fire a gun at two Beaumont police officers that went to a home in July of last
year. The gun did not discharge. A second teen, 19-year old Reginald Guillory is awaiting trial.
