A longtime Southeast Texas lawmaker has died. Carl A Parker passed away Friday at his home. Parker served as a state representative from 1962 to 1977 and then went on to the Texas State Senate until 1995. While in the senate, Parker was one of the most powerful men in Austin. Services are pending.
