A Beaumont man has been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison for being a felon in
possession of a firearm. In May of 2022, 32-year old Jorge Lynn Castelan was in possession of a fully
loaded assault style rifle following a report of a domestic disturbance on Dogwood Lane in Beaumont.
Castelan pleaded guilty in April of last year and was sentenced to 57 months yesterday.
