A Beaumont transient has been sentenced to nearly nine years in federal prison for a violent crime spree
across Southeast Texas. 36-year old Jamelle Parker carjacked a woman that was airing her tires at a gas
station on Washington Blvd in Beaumont in April of last year. He then robbed a convenience store on
MLK in Beaumont. He drove the stolen vehicle to Lufkin, crashed the car into a convenience store he
then robbed. He committed a second carjacking and was eventually arrested by Lufkin police. Parker
pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 105 months yesterday by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.
