County judges in Hardin and Orange counties have issued disaster declarations. Low lying areas along the
Neches and Sabine Rivers, along with Village Creek are impacted by high water. Nearly 20
search and rescue teams from Nashville, Tennessee are stationed in Lumberton to assist in case
they are needed.
More than 18,000 Entergy-Texas customers lost power as the storms swept through the area
last night. More than 10.000 of those outages were in Hardin County. Entergy crews have been
working overnight to restore the power. Also, Deweyville ISD and Kountze ISD have cancelled school for
today.
