Beaumont police are investigating a late night shooting as self-defense. Just before midnight, a
man was confronted and assaulted by his neighbor in the 2300 block of Avenue C. The victim shot
his attacker in the arm, who was transported to the hospital for treatment. No arrests have been
made at this time.
