Beryl Update From Greg Bostwick 07/07 4pm

Beryl remains a tropical storm with motion to the NNW at about 12 mph. This motion will place the center over eastern Matagorda Bay in the Palacious area around 4-5 in the predawn hours Monday. There remains the possibility that Beryl will reach hurricane force before landfall, however, intrusions of dry air in the middle levels continues to hinder development. After landfall, Beryl will move to southeast of College Station by early Monday afternoon and into the Little Rock, Arkansas area by early afternoon Tuesday....again no stall expected. Bands of rain will continue to move in off the Gulf with the heaviest rainfall between daybreak and early afternoon Monday. Still the chance of rainfall totals of 2-5 inches with wind gusts to 45 mph in heavier squalls.
