Beaumont has a new chief of police. By a unanimous vote, council confirmed the appointment of Tim Ocnaschek to replace Jimmy Singletary, who retired. Chief Ocnaschek has 38 years of law enforcement experience, including the past 33 years in Beaumont. He spent the past 17 years as the city’s Emergency Management Coordinator.
