The former mayor of DeRidder is behind bars and accused of sex crimes involving children. By request of the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, the Louisiana State Police started an investigation of 42-year-old Misty Roberts last Friday. That same day, Roberts announced she'd be away from City Hall for two-weeks. Roberts resigned on Saturday from her second term as mayor. She's charged with third-degree rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. Roberts turned herself in on Thursday.
