(Lake Charles, LA) -- Health officials are confirming the presence of West Nile Virus in several locations in Calcasieu Parish. The Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in Baton Rouge says Calcasieu is one of 20 parishes that have tested positive. One person in Calcasieu Parish has contracted the virus, which often shows no symptoms but can result in serious illness. Mosbulquito Control is increasing both ground and aerial spraying in the affected areas.
