The name of a man that was shot and killed by an Orange County deputy has been released. The deputy went to a home in Granger Lane in Orangefield yesterday about a man, identified later as 39-year Coby Granger, making threats against neighbors. Granger, who has a history on mental issues, violently attacked the deputy, who in returned shot him. Granger died at the scene. The deputy was taken to a Beaumont hospital with multiple injuries. The Texas Rangers are heading up the investigation.
