(Austin, TX) --The annual winter stocking of rainbow trout has begun. Between now and March officials will stock over 340-thousand trout in Texas state waters.The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has handled restocking efforts for the past four decades. Rainbow trout can't survive warmer waters and therefore won't be swimming in much of Texas after the winter ends, so anglers are advised to catch them while they can.
