Icy road conditions all across Southeast Texas this morning, including bridges and overpasses. Tex-Dot continues to monitor the conditions and remind motorists to give crews space to operate and to slow down when you approach them. Several wrecks reported yesterday, including a utility truck that crashed off I-10 onto the College Street service road in Beaumont. Also last night, in Jefferson County a utility truck flipped over near the Goodyear Plant on I-10.

Several school districts across the area remain closed today. For status on your school, go to your district’s social media pages.

In Hardin County, County Judge Wayne McDaniel says the courthouse will be closed today and all non-essential services will be closed today. A notice to resume normal business in Hardin County offices will be sent out by 5:00 this afternoon.

Beaumont fire worked a blaze at the Settler’s Cove Apartments yesterday afternoon in the 4000 block of Treadway. Five units at the complex were damaged by fire and water. Six people were displaced. No injuries were reported and no word on the cause.

Port Arthur police report a man operating an ATV died in a crash. It happened last night in the 5200 block of 7th Street. The driver lost control and struck a tree. He was transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas where he died. His name has not been released.
