The city of Beaumont reports the water system has been taxed with residents dripping water and broken pipes following the hard freeze. The city is asking residents to conserve water and avoid non-essential use such as doing laundry and washing vehicles until further notice.
Boil water notices have been issued across Southeast Texas. Due to a violation, the TCEQ has ordered the city of Port Arthur to be placed under a boil water notice. Other communities with boil water notices include Nederland, Bevil Oaks, and the Western Jefferson County Water District, which includes the Hamshire-Fannett area.
