Former Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie has formed an exploratory committee into the possibility of running for congress is District 14 of Texas, a seat currently held by Republican Randy Weber. Bartie would run as a Democrat in the March primary. His tenure as Port Arthur mayor ended last month due to term limits.
