Mexican National Indicted By Beaumont Federal Grand Jury

A Mexican national has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Beaumont. 33-year old

Daniel Alejandro Gonzales, of Mexico, is charged with assaulting a federal officer and

illegally reentering the United States after being deported. He was arrested last month

and while being transferred to an immigration holding facility, he engaged in a physical

altercation with a federal officer. If convicted, Gonzales faces eight to ten years in federal

prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
