Beaumont police are investigating a double shooting that has left a 28-year man dead and his
7-year old daughter in serious condition. Officer Hailey Morrow tells us they arrived on the
scene in the 4500 block of Harding around 1:00 this morning. 28-year old Alkevin Gelnn Mire
was pronounced dead at the scene. His 7-year old daughter was transported to a Houston hospital
in serious condition. Police are investigating if this shooting is related to a another recent
shooting on Harding Street. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Southeast Texas
