A two vehicle wreck on I-10 in Jefferson County has claimed the life of a Nederland teen.
The DPS reports 18-year old Destiny Burk was stopped in the outside lane of I-10 east near
the Hamshire Road exit Monday night when her car was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler, 29-year old Victor Ruiz
of Las Vegas Nevada, was not hurt. The investigation into the fatality continues.
