Rebecca Black Auditions for 'The Four,' Says 'Bye Bye Bye' to Her Haters

Rebecca Black

You may remember Rebecca Black as the 13-year-old who went completely viral after sharing the music video for her song "Friday," but she's grown up a lot since then. And just recently, Rebecca auditioned for The Four: Battle for Stardom, hoping to take her music career to new heights.

Before she went on stage to potentially challenge one of the Four for their seat, Rebecca explained how "Friday" happened and that dealing with mean comments and online bullying was difficult for her, especially at a young age.

The Four panelist and pop star Meghan Trainor began fangirling as the now 20-year-old took her place on stage. She said, "You're Rebecca Black!" Black explained her personal journey to Diddy and DJ Khaled, who are also on the panel, and then sang *NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye."

Rebecca impressed the judges enough to proceed to the next round, receiving three blue rings, which means she got the chance to challenge one of The Four for their seat, and she chose James Graham, a UK singer/songwriter who was previously in a boyband but left to pursue a solo career.

During the challenge, singing first was James, who performed Donny Hathaway's "A Song For You," and Rebecca followed with Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn."

Afterwards, Diddy proclaimed it was "getting hot" in there, and took off his jacket, followed by Khaled, who told them both that they were amazing. Meghan told Rebecca that she was proud of her and her performance, and to James that artists like him are needed on the radio today.

Then, it was time for the audience to vote, and they declared James the winner of the challenge, leaving Rebecca to say "bye bye bye." But before she left, Rebecca tearfully said:

"I never thought I would be able to be here and it means so much. I felt like there was a 13-year-old little girl stuck so trapped for so long, thinking that nobody else would be able to look at her differently. Thank you guys so much for giving me a chance."

You go, girl.

Since "Friday" went viral, Rebecca kicked her music career into gear and released a few singles, and has also been posting awesome videos to her YouTube channel, which include covers, "Songs That Will Change Your Life" (she swears), and more.

Last year, Rebecca released her debut EP RE / BL (pronounced "Rebel"), which features six songs including her single "Heart Full of Scars." During an interview with iHeartRadio, Rebecca told iHeartRadio of putting her very first EP together, "Putting it together was every emotion under the sun, because there were some days where I was so excited, and I mean I was continuously excited about it. But it's also very stressful, because it's like presenting yourself to the world for the first time. Like, a single song only represents one thing that, whether it's something in my mind or something I'm feeling, but an EP is kind of an album, it's a representation of who you are right now. So it was a big deal to me, personally, just make it the best I could."
