In Newton County, Sheriff Billy Rowles says one person was shot and two people
were taken into custody following a disturbance Monday afternoon. Deputies were
called to the 9000 block of Highway 87, north of Bleakwood, and found 32-year old Brandon
Stark suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital
in Beaumont. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene. A large amount of methamphetamine
was found in the home. The investigation continues.
