Texas Man Made Cryptic Facebook Post Before Family Was Shot To Death

Authorities in Texas made a grisly discovery at a Polk County home on Monday (February 11) morning. They responded to a call around 10:30 a.m. and found the bodies of three people, including a 15-month-old child, outside of the house along with two other victims inside. One woman managed to survive and was found unharmed, locked in a bedroom in the back of the house.

Officials identified the deceased as Carlos Delaney, 74, Linda Delaney, 72, their granddaughter, Ashley Delaney, 27, her husband, Randy Horn, 54, and their 15-month-old daughter, Ranley. Ashley's mother was the lone survivor, but police said that she is not a suspect.

“This is a horrible, horrific scene. A horrible crime,” Chief Deputy Byron Lyons, with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, said. “What I would ask is that the community will pray. This is something that we’re not used to.”

Before the shooting, Horn was at a local sports bar, where he appeared to be withdrawn. The bartender told the Daily Mail that Horn spent most of his time using his cellphone and did not drink as much as he usually does.

"He's usually very outgoing," Jodie Harris said. "He didn't seem angry, sad, or confused about anything but he was withdrawn. More to himself than usual."

While he was at the bar, he also made a cryptic post on Facebook which read: "It's time to pay up for all the bad Decisions you made in life...never bet your life on someone because you never know..."

Officials have not said who they believe is responsible and are waiting for the autopsy report to determine whether it was a murder-suicide.
