A Liberty County girl is recovering after she was hit by lightning yesterday afternoon. The
sheriff's office says lightning struck the 11-year-old on FM 1409 in Dayton shortly before 1 p.m.
as heavy weather moved through the area. She was reportedly playing near a water well at the
time she was hit. She is reportedly in good condition.
