Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Reveal Gender Of Their First Child

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are having a baby girl!

The “Swish Swish” songbird broke the exciting news on Instagram last night (April 3), revealing she and her fiance are expecting a daughter. “💕 It’s a girl 💕” Perry captioned an adorable picture of Bloom’s smiling face covered in light pink frosting. Along with the photo, presumably taken during the couple’s gender reveal celebration, Perry tags the image with the empowering message, “Girls Run the World.”

The news must be especially exciting for Perry, who expressed her hopes of having a girl while performing for the first time while pregnant during last month’s Women’s Cricket World Cup Final in Melbourne, Australia.

The reveal comes nearly a month after Perry announced her pregnancy in the music video for her song “Never Worn White.” Perry wears several stylish ensembles throughout the wedding-themed visual, before finally putting her baby bump on full display in a sheer gown.

"I am excited. We're excited and happy and it's probably the longest secret I've ever had to keep," the “Teenage Dream” musician expressed in an Instagram Live video at the time. "And I like to tell you guys everything but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that's... I guess that's how I speak to you. That's how we speak together to each other."

As previously reported, Perry and Bloom are rumored to welcome their daughter this summer. This will be the couple’s first child together, and the second for Bloom following his 9-year-old son, Flynn, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

Additionally, the lovebirds are engaged to be married sometime this year — presumably in April, last we reported. As fans know, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor popped the question to the Grammy-nominated songstress last Valentine’s Day with a flower-shaped diamond ring.
