The DPS is working an accident involving a school bus on Highway 90, near McDermitt, in
Jefferson County. An eastbound van crashed into the back of a Hardin-Jefferson ISD school
bus just past 7:00 this morning. The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene. No
students on the bus were hurt. The bus driver was transported to the hospital for observation.
A second HJISD school bus went to the scene to pick up the students and transport them to
school.
