Acting on a tip, a handgun was located and removed from a student’s backpack Wednesday at
Silsbee High School. No direct threats were made. The matter has been referred to law
enforcement. The Silsbee ISD is grateful for the anonymous tip and the swift action of the
district’s high school administrative team and the Silsbee ISD Police Department.
