While watching various reports on the news channels I noticed once again, the most overused word in the English language. That word is “amazing”. Everything is amazing. If everything is amazing how can it also be “incredible” or “unbelievable”. Can it also be “stunning” and “miraculous”? Probably. But no one ever uses that. it’s always amazing. On the Wheel of Fortune television game show, people are always married to their “amazing” husband. Naturally their children are also “amazing” and so is their inability to figure out some of the less than “amazing” puzzles. When someone scores a touchdown it has to be an “amazing” run (usually less than 30 yards} and the guy who ran is naturally, “amazing”. Bo Derek is “amazing”. So is a Ruth Chris steak and a Frontier flight that lands on time. Most other things are less than “amazing”. Today’s eclipse will be “amazing” but not nearly as much as the money that has been spend trying to see it. That’s the end of a much less than “amazing” blog of the day.
