There will be a runoff to decide the Jefferson County Precinct 2 county commissioner’s race.
Cary Erickson picked up 35% of the vote in yesterday’s Republican primary. Alex Rupp
received 34% of the vote. Joseph Paul Trahan and Christian Manuel Hayes are in a runoff for the
Democratic State Representative #22 seat being vacated by State Representative Joe Deshotel,
who did not seek another term after 22 years in office. Trahan picked up 48% of the vote.
Christian Manuel Hayes received 43%. Rod Ousley and Brandi Stutts are in a runoff for Hardin
County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3. Runoff election date is May 24th.
