An Orange County man is jailed facing numerous charges. Vidor police stopped a car for
speeding on FM 1132 yesterday. The driver produced a driver’s license identifying himself
as 30-year old David Henry Wurtz. The name was recognized as being part of a counterfeit
check cashing ring. It was learned the driver was actually 45-year old William Elbert Grubbs,
of Orange. He attempted to flee on foot and was tased by officers. Two loaded pistols, two
printers, a laptop computer, numerous factious checks, a large amount of blank check paper
stock, and 18 governmental identification cards issued to numerous individuals were found
in Grubb’s car. He is facing seven different charges.
