A jury could not reach a verdict in the trial of a Beaumont man accused of stealing a TV from
the Beaumont Wal-Mart. Judge John Steven then declared a mistrial. 26-year old Demarcus
Brown has also accused Beaumont police of assaulting him during his arrest on the night of
the alleged theft. If convicted, the theft would have been a felony because of Brown’s two
previous misdemeanor theft convictions
